This picture is about two years old now. It was my Humanities character project, and my final project for the first semester.
I was Murasaki Shikibu, the daughter of a minor nobleman in the Japanese court in the 1000s, and she is widely regarded as the world’s first novelist. Everything you see in this picture, from the kimono to the fan is historically accurate. The color pattern was accurate for the time of year and the fan is paper on bamboo. In the end, I had one of the best costumes in my class and got an A on the project.
It was fun :D
